My block in "100 Blocks" magazine

I am thrilled to have my block in the latest issue of "100 Blocks". It's on page 8, the first block in the magazine. Ha, ha! I am number 1! How cool is that? Here's the picture of my block.

I'll be giving away a pattern of mine (viewer's choice) to one lucky person leaving a comment. You can see all my patterns on our website: and keep up to date with new patterns as they are released on my facebook page:

Yo-yos rule! I also like Dresden type blocks. This is my first time making skinnier spokes in a Dreseden and having space between. This block remindied me of the Bachelor Buttons that grew wild around our house when I was a kid. My favorite color is blue, but not just any blue. It has to be a bright blue. Love the brights.  I had fun playing with these fabrics (Topsy Turvy by Northcott).

I've also attached a picture of our two new rescue kittens. They match the block and are wild and crazy, just like the fabric!

Thanks for visiting, and especially for commenting. Quilting is the best addiction one can have.

100 Blocks

Yay! I have another block published in the Super Great magazine 100 Blocks, Volume 14. It is on sale now. It's the most fun magazine. 100 original blocks and all the directions to make each block are included. If you want a copy and can't find one locally, send me an email and we can arrange delivery of the magazine to you.  Here is my block that is published in this volume. They named it "Blossom Burst". Page 8, the first block in the magazine. This is the EQ image, the "real" block has yo-yos around the outside (the green circles) and a yellow yo-yo in the center. I don't know where I saved my photo of the actual block. The actual block and instructions are included in 100 Blocks. So excited! Happy Dance! I'd love to have everyone on my Facebook page. Quilters have taken over Facebook!
Cheers! Karen Bialik, The Fabric Addict. It's only an addiction if you admit it!

We had a family get together today. Instead of eating too much, I brought along a quilt to bind. This big Queen (88" x 98") is being held by my tall husband and my tall nephew. The pattern is "Nine Patch Tumbler". Have two kits available. The batik feature fabric has butterflies. Very pretty, I think.

My first post

Here's my blog.  It's open to anyone.  Mostly I will be blogging about my quilty pleasures.

I am a designer of quilt patterns. I design mostly for Northcott fabrics ( and also have been published in a couple of magazines.  We sell my patterns and kits made from my patterns through our website .  We also sell wholesale to shops around the world.

All of our patterns are available in pdf to download, or as hard copy to be mailed out.

My favourite pattern is called "Sunburst"  The pattern retails for just $4.98:

Here are links to some of my most recent patterns that I have designed for Northcott. All are available through our website :

Multi-sized pattern using Northcott's "Peacock Paradise" fabric designed by Deborah Edwards

An over-sized Queen quilt using "Le Belle" - Raven by Northcott:

Multi-sized pattern using "Christmas Classics" fabric designed by Deborah Edwards

Multi-sized pattern featuring "Geisha" fabric designed by Deborah Edwards.  We have made this quilt from many different fabrics, all with striking results:

From "Stone Strips" Stonehenge fabrics I designed three quilts:

Another multi-sized pattern that looks great with any fabric.  This pattern features the fabric "Kimonos" designed by (who else?) Deborah Edwards for Northcott:

Proud to be Canadian?  Make up this quilt using "Oh Canada" fabric designed by Linda Ludovico Stonehenge by Northcott:

Coming soon: "Flight of Fancy" using Anastasia fabric designed by Jane Spolar for Northcott

One of the most beautiful fabrics ever made is featured here - "Cardinal Christmas" by Deborah Edwards.  This patterns has a large and lap and a queen sized quilt.  Pattern is called "Songbird Serenade"

"Water Garden" shows off the fabric line "Hamilton Grove" by Sue Beevers:

My very favourite pattern yet.  This is a sample type of quilt.  EAch house has a different 6" block inside that can be customized to the interests of your family. This quilt will truly become a family heirloom.  The pattern is called "Love at Home" (its called "Love of Home" on Northcott's webiste).  The fabric line featured in this beautiful quilt is "Mulberry Lane" by Sue Beevers

Like horses?  This is a great quilt for the horse lover.  Made using "Stonhenge Canyon Ridge" by Linda Ludovico for Northcott.  This is "Attic Window Twist" because it is an "Attic Windows" done in an original way.

Well, this is a very long post.  I'd better head to bed.  In 40 minutes it will be my birthday.  I need my beauty rest so that I don't look a year older tomorrow!
